Combination of Informa Tech and TechTarget creates a leading global platform in B2B data and market access

The first weeks of January have been exciting ones for all of us at Informa Tech.

You will have heard that Informa has signed an agreement to combine the digital businesses of Informa Tech (research, media and demand generation) with TechTarget to create a leading global platform in B2B data and market access.

What does this mean?

Once the transaction closes, this means that we will sit at the heart of one of the world’s largest business technology communities – able to offer our clients better access to, and insight from, a B2B audience of 50 million.

Our analysts and consultants from Omdia, Canalys, Wards Intelligence and TechTarget’s Enterprise Strategy Group will come together, with an expanded reach as a go-to source of market data, insight and advice, sharpening our clients’ market strategies and accelerating go-to-market efforts.

Our media brands are trusted, respected and have global reach. Together with TechTarget, we become stronger in media with just about 350 full-time journalists and editors and over 220 leading, highly discoverable media brands. And we will continue to provide our readers with the invaluable insights they need to make informed decisions and stay abreast of what is happening in our industry.

Together, we will become one of the leading providers of buyer-level intent, offering insight across our permissioned B2B audience to speed up the sales process.

And by bringing together the extensive brand to demand capabilities of TechTarget, Industry Dive and Informa Tech, supported by leading martech and salestech platforms, we will be fielding some of the industry’s best content and performance marketers to help marketers maximise the results of their campaigns.

Our events brands will continue to bring you the best in on-demand and live events in their new home in Informa Connect, our sister division in Informa, where they remain fully-focused on the technology industry and delivering world-class experiences to business tech communities.

So what’s next?

It is expected that the proposed transaction will close in the second half of the year, subject to obtaining customary approvals and satisfying other conditions. Until then it is business as usual for all of us at Informa Tech.
